The phrase “Deeper Life” is not a name designated for a denomination but a lifestyle of genuine believers in Jesus Christ.
A deeper life is a life dedicated to searching for the truth as if it were gold, obtaining the truth and utilizing the truth. It is a life committed to engaging in an endless search and exploration into the essence of life, which is to do the will of God.

Knowing a scripture and quoting or referencing it is very good, but what is much better is to live out a scripture. By living out a scripture for others to see, you are quoting and referencing it a thousand times better.
John 5:39…search the scriptures, for in them, you think you have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Just knowing may be considered as scratching the surface, but applying it is the main purpose of knowing it.
Joshua 1:8…that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. James 1:22 – “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
-Just knowing that there is a river of water when you are thirsty will not automatically quench your thirst, but drinking from the river will.
If you have a doctor who calls himself a doctor but cannot treat a patient when the patient is sick, then the doctorate is just a title, but the application is the main qualification.

Yes, because you read the Bible as a religious ritual. You must have a purpose for reading, something you seek, something that will keep you going, something that will hold up your eyes and heart from closing. A miner does not get tired and doze off while mining because he has a mission.
The question is: What is your purpose for reading the word of God?
- Is it so that you can tell your pastor, “I read the Bible today”?
- Or is it so that you can tell yourself that you’ve achieved something by reading the Bible?
The main purpose
The main purpose of reading God’s word is to know God, to understand God, to know His will, to know what He wants, and to know what displeases Him. It’s to know how to serve Him, how to walk with Him, how to access Him, how to trust Him, when to trust Him, where to trust Him, and how to lead sinners to Him. It is to know his will for us, his plan, our purpose, our Job, our service and our mandate. It is like a compass that gives direction to a lost life. Note: You cannot work for someone you don’t know; you will only live in frustration throughout your working time.
How to study the Bible:
- It is the same as studying a textbook for an exam, but you must have a topic, a question.
- Engaging the Bible without a target is like reading a textbook for an exam without any Areas of Concentration (AOC). It will become a storybook.
(The exams are the challenges of life, and you must know the solutions before they come; if not, it might lead to panicking, doubts, and fears.)
2. The Bible is like a cookbook, but you must have a food you want to cook before searching how to cook it.
3. The Bible is like a self-help manual to treat yourself when you need treatment or to teach yourself to avoid sicknesses (physically and spiritually).
4. Studying the Bible is to help you solve your problems, answer your questions, and prepare you for future challenges, and if it isn’t working, you will fail in your future exams.
There is no secret formula for how to study the Bible; the only formula you can use is to “Love God”. The love for God and the desire to hear from Jesus Himself will stir you to want to hear His words. And that love is the only thing that can keep you going deeper in your spiritual journey and the ever-learning journey in His word — nothing else and nothing more.
Always remember, his word is the only place where God cannot hide Himself from humans, even from sinners. Anyone who looks for God in His word will find Him and not just Him, but also the solution to every question in their heart. He is always waiting inside those words to reveal Himself to us.
