Proverbs 14:34 – Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.
Sin doesn’t only just affect a person, but it also affects the environment and the nature of the abode of such person. Shall a deadly parasite abide in its host and not hurt its host? How then can the people filled with sin, adultery, fornication, idolatry, selfishness, fraudulent mindset, lawlessness, blood rituals, evil thirst for riches, not hurt the community they belong to? This is one of the greatest reasons why the gospel needs to be preached, if sin is eradicated, disasters will also be eradicated.
Take away ego from among yourself, take away bitterness. Take away the quest to be greater than your neighbor that has led many to an endless crime lifestyle. Yes, we are temporarily abiding here, this is not our paradise.
Have you ever been to the mortuary? You would understand how irrelevant the desires of man can become knowing we are headed home someday. But where would you be going to? Is it heaven or hell? Even if you are the most miserable person in the world today, it is only a mint compared to a lifelong of separation from God in hell.
Let us return to God through Jesus in all of our ways, and God will return to us and heal our land.
