“Psalms 105:17-20: He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold as a servant. They hurt his feet with fetters; he was laid in iron. Until the time that his word came, the word of the Lord tried him. The king sent and released him; even the ruler of the people let him go free.
Yes, we often think about the wickedness of Joseph’s brothers selling him into Egypt, but we think less about his pride and recklessness in his words and actions, which also led him to his trials. Our sins often lead us into a path of affliction and trials before the manifestation of God’s promises, and many have died in such trials. Our recklessness, ignorance, and carelessness have caused much suffering in many trials. But yet, there is still a merciful God who aids his own who repent and turn back to him. He holds them, and even in what they have been through, he is still able to give peace according to his promises. He took him out of his prison of pain, troubles, affliction, sorrow, and regrets and sets him up according to his words to him.
Joseph repented of his pride but was later unjustly sent into prison, he held on to his God, and God preserved his life from Potiphar. He realized that God had to humble him to be exalted. Even though he was filled with regrets, shattered hopes, and loss of dignity and virtue, he held on to his God, and his God gave him victory. God can restore everything to you in just one day; trust in him and keep praying.”
