Reinhard Bonnke spoke about seeing the graves of missionaries who died from African plagues and sicknesses on his way when he arrived in Africa. He even spoke of how malaria almost took his life in his book, “Living A Life of Fire.” Many had sacrificed their lives to make the salvation of God stand for the next generation. They stand for no gain or ambition but to see the salvation of Jesus in the lives of others. They are warriors, they are forerunners, they are liberators, they are missionaries. Get busy for God; do something! Is everything all about you? Your life, your destiny, your future, your work, your purpose, your this, your that… you, you, you. Then it means you still belong to yourself, and you are not yet sold out. Any small problem, you start complaining, “My daddy has neglected me.” You are not yet sold out. When your life is no longer yours, your mission is no longer yours but His, your money is no longer yours but His, your direction in life is no longer yours but His, then you will understand what it means to give one’s life to Jesus.
A few years back, when I started my journey with Jesus, I was sleeping in my room, almost dawn. I felt a presence, even in my sleep, beside my bed; I felt someone standing beside me, and He came to my ear and said, “Tell my children that I am coming soon.” For the first time in my life, I heard my Savior’s voice through my ears; how would I not proclaim it on the rooftops, what He spoke to me in my chamber? When I read the stories of the missionaries of old and what they gave up, things they lost, and the life they lived for Jesus, I look at my sacrifice, and it seems insignificant compared to theirs. Many gave up marriage, jobs, luxury, comfort, positions… to enter into the dark regions of the world to brighten it with the Gospel. We sit in the comfort of our beds, expecting God’s anointing of miracles to fall on us; what for? To bring to life our dead phone battery for social media? Grace falls on those who are moving, not those who stand still. And those who stand still will exhaust their grace by standing still. The principle of renewing grace is to keep it moving and in usage; to keep supplying current, the generator must keep in motion.
